Where can I find a forend pistol grip for a mosberg maverick 88?
I recently purchased a mosberg maverick 88 pump action 12 gauge. I have since added an ati collapsable stock and want to put a pistol grip on the forend but cant find anyone who makes one. I found several for the 500 models and purchased one but the tube diameter seems to be different and wont work on the 88. Is it possible to put a tube from a 500 on an 88? I would rather have the 8 round tube from the 590 anyway so I guess that would be an option. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thank you.
Exactly as you figured. No one makes a forearm for a Mav 88….it’s a redundant part seeing as how the 500 part fits perfectly. You’ll need to go to ebay or gunbroker.com and search on “mossberg 500″ and just scroll through the listings til you see one of these…..

I pick them up in the $12 range all the time….don’t go overboard! They’re will always be another one two days from now.
Once you get that tube, pop it into your Mav 88 and you have a Mossy 500 for all intents and purposes. All the forearms and pistol grips out there will fit yours then.
If you decide to switch yours to a 590 magazine tube, a two minute conversion, remember that you’ll need to switch the mag tube and barrel both at the same time. The 590 barrel will ONLY fit a 590 mag tube! Then, switch the forearm slide tube and you’ll be good to go.
