Is it normal for the hammer of a tattoo gun to spark?
As i was practicing some desighns I noticed that the hammer of my gun was sparking, Is that normal or is my gun about to take a dump? Ive never thought to look when ever I got ink and it makes sence that it would but im not sure.
Please stop calling it a gun, it doesn’t

I think you must be thinking of the
contact screw and the spring.
Some springs are still made with points, and they have to be cleaned.
Get a piece of Emery cloth, press it between the spring and contact screw
and drag it through.
That should cut down on your sparking…………some, like mine, don’t spark at all…….and there’s no clanking or extra vibration either. Just a nice smooth action.
