What would cause the tip of my laptop power adapter to overheat?
OK so when i plug my power adapter into my laptop after a few minutes the metal tip of the end that is plugged into my laptop heats up and if i touch it it is almost hot enough to burn me, it even burned me once.
it’s probably a damaged conenctor, if it is not connecting with the pins in the laptop chargeing slot, the electric will spark to the pin. when electric sparks it creates a lot of heat (the cause of household electrical fires)
i’d suggest that you get the socket on the laptop looked at, because the spring inside has probably broken and needs the socket to be replaced. it’s unlikely to be the charger.
