Body Art Tattoos
For those who have tattoos or piercing or other kind of body art please answer?
Why did you decide to get it/them? Culture? Trend? Why?
i have my ears pierced twice, and 8 tattoos. at one point in time i had both my nipples done, and later i had my septum pierced.
my tattoos (in order):
1) right shoulder: pieces sign – because i am one, and i was graduating high school
2) left shoulder: watter drop – starting college, and it’s my Chinese element sign
3) back of neck: a chaos sign i designed. it represents that no matter where i go, i have to remain centered and focused
4) left inner forearm. ace of spades, on fire with a skull for the spade. i go this when i was doing lighting design for concerts. it marks the beginning of my chosen carrier.
5) back: two coy fish that are facing opposite directions, and the tails meet to make the pieces sign. this is the beginning for a much larger back piece.
6) right forearm. my gauntlet of fish scales. this is something i had been thinking of getting for such a long time. probably 6 years before i started working on it. on day it will be a full sleeve.
7) chest. mirrored tattoo saying “that which does not kill you only makes you stronger”. a constant reminder that i can always make it through the day.
left shoulder. zombie monkey, holding a flash light and a wrench. this is a representation of where i am now in my life. a master electrician of a theatre. it’s great.
how about piercings?
ears: because i wanted them done. i hate plane ears. they always need some “bling”
i’ve stretched them out to be 2g on the bottom and 6g on the top.
i had my nipples done because i wanted to see what it was like. kept them for about 2 years, then took them out.
septum. thought it would be neat. had it for 3 months then took it out, after starting my current job and apartment hunting.
