Bindi Henna

Indian chicken dish…?
Last year I worked at Macy’s Credit and Collections Services for the Holiday season. Sometime in January we had an Indian Recognition Day and we were provided with some Indian food (as well as bindi’s and henna and the works.) I’m trying to find out what the dish was that we were given for lunch. It had chicken in it and it was not terribly spicy. It also had a yellowish colored sauce. Anyone have any thoughts?
To me it sounds most like Korma (http://yasmeen-healthnut.blogspot.com/2008/10/shahi-khorma-majestic-luscious-dish_06.html ) which is usually a pale tan, some may call yellowish. I think this is also the most likely possiblility since this type of curry is not usually spicy, in fact, there is usually just the slightest hint of sweet. It is very rich and very popular with people who are not used to Indian food, so I think it may have been selected for an event such as you describe.
The generic “chicken curry” that I’ve always had homemade I’ve always seen as a red, reddish brown. I don’t know, maybe in a restaurant it is yellow, but in my experience it is reddish.
I think that a dhal is less likely, it is usually made vegetarian, at least in restaurants/catering where I’ve always seen it that way. In the home when it’s made with meat, I’ve always been green dhal with beef/goat/mutton. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m just saying that I don’t think it’s very common to have chicken with dhal.
